Roots

Our vision is to create a place that feels like home, where children feel part of the family and know that they are loved, cared for, listened to and valued.  Families feel comfortable and welcomed into a safe and non-judgemental environment and understand that their views and personal perspectives are not only respected but celebrated and included in our practice.

Our passionate, enthusiastic and qualified team plan responsively, in the moment, keeping the children’s unique interests at the heart of everything they do, expanding their play experiences and uplifting them to reach their full potential in all developmental areas.

We know that each child is an individual with a unique set of capabilities and we aim to nurture their instinctive drive to explore, investigate and discover the world around them by providing an engaging environment that sparks curiosity and ignites a sense of wonder.  We understand that, within a safe environment, challenges and opportunities to fail are excellent ways for children to develop their self confidence, independence and resilience and these are the magic ingredients to creating the empowered learners of the future.

What we offer

Throughout the week, we offer a wide range of engaging activities for children to play and learn in various areas. These include exciting PE lessons, cookery classes, trips to the library, enjoyable nature walks, music sessions, and moments of mindfulness. Best of all, these enriching experiences are all included in our standard programme without any additional charges!

Childcare Funding

Fully funded sessions are available to all eligible families. When using funded hours, no extra charges apply. Children receive the same meals, activities, and care.

Moving to Carmela’s was the best decision I could have made. My son has settled in well and has now increased his attendance. They do really great activities there, lots of baking and crafts. I love their focus on a book each week. My son has learnt so much. In particular he has learnt a lot about emotions recently as well as shapes. He tells me that he loves the staff there. They all have such a caring and fun nature that he is drawn to and make him feel safe and secure. All of the staff are lovely, they always open the door with a smile and always have an upbeat and positive nature. Honestly I can’t fault it and I’m really pleased that I was recommended for him to attend here. He will be very well set up for school, has learnt a lot and his social skills have improved, and he has lots of fun.

My daughter has attended Carmela Coady Childcare since November 2021. She moved with the team from Muscliff to their new location of Shelley Road, Boscombe. There are other childcare options closer to home, but I didn’t feel any compared with Carmela’s. Other parents always talked about the ‘feeling you get’ and that is exactly what I had with Carmela’s. The friendly, home from home warm feeling so I drive out my way to take her there. The team and setting have grown since my daughter started and with that they are forever growing their knowledge and what they can offer to all the children, I find all of them friendly, positive, and caring even from short conversations at drop off and pick up.

My daughter loves music time with Mandy, going on trips out, playing inside and outside, she is forever learning a new nursery rhyme and likes counting and doing her ABC’s. One of Carmela’s team has started a new session called Jigsaw in which some of the children learn other skills from being calm, confident, listening etc which I think it is great that they are open to trialing new teaching skills for the children. The app ‘Famly’ was a fantastic addition for all at Carmela’s to communicate with the parents with written information and photos from group settings and personal observations of your child, it tells you about food they have had in the day, if they nap, how their toilet training is going etc plus as parents we can easily message to ask anything. It will be an emotional day for me when my daughter ‘Graduates’ and leaves Carmela’s.

My little one loves Carmela's. He started just before he was 2 and is now almost 3 and a half (he started on 3 days and now does 3.5). He bounds in every morning is always greeted with a smile. The staff are in tune with his progress & are working on emotions with him which is an area he needs help with. They allow him to choose activities, he eats all the food without complaint and is happy when I pick him up every time. Highly recommend.
